Heart disease is the #1 cause of death in Southern Alberta, yet critical cardiac care remains hours away for many patients. The Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation, alongside healthcare leaders and community partners, is launching a $30M campaign to transform cardiac care in the region.

This initiative will upgrade facilities, expand treatment options, and establish a state-of-the-art Southern Alberta Cardiac Centre of Excellence—ensuring life-saving care is available close to home. Together, we can change the future of heart health in our community.

Join us in making every heartbeat count.

Bringing Hearts Home

The Road to Southern Alberta’s Cardiac Centre of Excellence

Every second counts in a cardiac emergency—but for many Southern Albertans, life-saving care is hours away. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the region, with cardiac-related fatalities 26.6% higher than the rest of Alberta.

Each year, over 1,300 patients must travel to Calgary for essential treatment, facing long, stressful journeys that put their health at further risk.

We have a plan to change that. The Southern Alberta Cardiac Centre of Excellence will bring advanced heart care closer to home by:

✔️ Building a Cardiac Catheterization Lab to provide rapid intervention
✔️ Expanding Echocardiography and Intensive Care services
✔️ Investing in Cardiac MRI, CT scanners, and state-of-the-art equipment
✔️ Strengthening prevention and early detection programs

With a $30M fundraising goal, this vision is bold—but with your help, it’s possible.

Join us in transforming cardiac care and saving lives in our community.
